Here is a short summary of my last 50 years.
Gradated from U of Michigan in 1973. Graduated from of Illinois law school in 1976. I joined my father’s law firm (general practice with emphasis on personal injury). Tried and won 7 PI jury trials in first year of practice. Brother Mike joined firm in 1979, sister Jacalen joined firm in 1990. Daughter Stephanie joined in 2017. Father passed away in 2005, so I am now president of Garris, Garris, Garris & Garris, P.C. in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I married a nice Greek girl, Stacy Garris. I have four children, Jack, undergraduate in pre-law (wrestler, diver and drummer in rock band), Sophia, business and furniture design degree, currently high-end cosmetologist in Minneapolis (gymnast and diver), Attorney Stephanie, MSU grad with degrees in business and theater (diver and golfer), and Jenny, graduated summa cum laude with communications and theatre degrees (movie starlet in LA, now in charge of youth education at LA mega-church), married, expecting my first grandchild.
Got my TKD black belt, did several marathons, including in Greece, over a hundred triathlons including five Ironman triathlons, two of which were in Hawaii (finished 10th in age group in one). Have traveled with wife to Japan and Wife and children to Greece, Italy, and China. We have a condo in the Florida Keys where we boat and fish.
Because Jack is still an undergraduate, I cannot retire for at least ten more years. Currently taking golf and ballroom dance lessons. I still run and bike.
