I attended Michigan Tech, Santa Barbara City College, and the University of California at Santa Barbara, earning degrees in Marine Diving Technology and Geological Sciences. For ten years I worked in the commercial diving industry as a life support technician and diver at offshore locations in California, Louisiana, Mexico, England and Germany. After that I completed a two year tour as a research diver at an underwater research facility in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
I then returned to Michigan, got married, and settled down to work as a geologist, first in natural gas and then in environmental services. Along the way I managed to write a book (Michigan historical fiction), which had been a dream of mine ever since eighth grade at Forsythe Middle School.
As a retirement trip (long-delayed by Covid), we are traveling in June 2022 to Norway to visit our daughter, son-in-law, and baby grand-daughter, whom we love and miss very much.
